Statement of Purpose:
Pax Christi USA formed in 1972 is a national Catholic organization, reaching over a half million Catholics directly every year. We have over 400 local groups throughout the United States. Pax Christi MN is one of these local groups. There are over 100 bishop members, 700 parish sponsors, 600 religious communities and 50 college and high school chapters.
All Pax Christi organizations strive to create a world reflecting the Peace of Christ by exploring, articulating, and witnessing the call of Christian nonviolence. This work is in our personal lives that extends to our communities with actions that transform the structures of society. Pax Christi advocates primacy of conscience, economic and social justice, and respect for creation. Pax Christi organizations commit to education and promote the gospel imperative for peacemaking as a priority. These efforts are carried out by all Pax Christi members to achieve a peaceful, just, and sustainable world.
Pax Christi International is a non-profit, non-governmental Catholic peace movement working on a global scale on a wide variety of issues in the fields of human rights, human security, disarmament and demilitarization, just world order and religion and violent conflict.
